Twelve plus bronze sculptures by Dennis Smith are nestled throughout the landscape, surrounded by Alpine’s perennial plantings and seasonal color.
Dennis Smith’s work offers a window into his life and views, shaped by his upbringing as a son of Alpine. His sculptures of families, mothers, and children, widely regarded as a national treasure, reflect the human spirit through the innocence of childhood. For Dennis, the child is a metaphor for life: curiosity, discovery, and the search for identity. Each piece captures a vibrant moment of human experience, much like his own childhood in Alpine.
Emily Brooks Wayment
Emily Brooks Wayment is a landscape designer whose work is rooted in legacy, beauty, and connection. Inspired by her late mother, Charmaine, she carries forward a love of gardens and nature, passing it on to her own children. Trained in England, including studies through Oxford and the College of Garden Design, she brings an international perspective to her work. As the designer of the Alpine Sculpture and Gathering Garden, she creates spaces that are living expressions of memory and heritage.
